MEMOHAI

Last Thursday I went with my class to Seattle's MOHAI, which means Museum of History and Industry, and I mention that because I didn't know it until that day.
It was a very interesting visit, too bad that we had very little time to see all the things it has to offer. There are a lot of different and interesting facts about Seattle that I think (at least in my experience) that are not so common for people to know. One of these interesting facts I'm talking about is from World War II. As a matter of fact, I'm a little obsessed with that time period, probably that's why I chose to talk about Seattle at World War II.
Anyway, the thing is that on December 9, 1941, the authorities of Seattle government ordered a general blackout in the city, because of the events happened a few days before at Pearl Harbor, so in order to protect civilians from an air attack, this blackout was ordered. Some of the people agreed, but others, mostly those who owned a business didn't obey the order and left the lights on. Watching this behaviour made some of the civilians take immediate action: they grabbed some rocks and broke the lights of the open business. Of course they got arrested for vandalic behaviour, but they claimed themselves as patriotic heroes.
This is only an example of the interesting and fascinating stories you can find at the MOHAI, personally I liked the place a lot because I'm really into history.
